The change in supermarket sizes is really interesting. I like Trader Joe's, because it's so small. There's a phrase in Italian: "Città a misura d'uomo" which means a city that is scaled to human capacity—you can walk from one side to the other. I feel like TJ's and other small stores are also "human scaled"

I hadn't heard of Penn Fruit. I looked it up, and it reminded me of the Safeway at 116 University Blvd W, Silver Spring, MD 20901, which I have been past, and in front of, but never inside. Satellite view seems to indicate that it might just be a facade and the rest is diagonal. Unclear.
