"I saw It’s a Wonderful Life for the first time on Christmas Eve—and I did not like it at all." I am extremely surprised to hear this!

I appreciate the story and the message! But I found the first two thirds of the film too much of a downer for the final act to mean much (dramatically/artistically I mean - of course you can still be redeemed even after screaming at your kids and trashing your house on Christmas Eve, but I don't quite get why it's seen as a "feel-good" movie).

I have many thoughts and a pretty different interpretation of the film, but I'll spare you the wall of text for now. And I can certainly appreciate the minority viewpoint; there are lots of "classic films" that I can't stand. For example, I think Casablanca is unwatchable. Happy holidays to you and your friends and family, and thank you so much for an excellent 2022 of thought-provoking posts!

Now Casablanca is alright with me! Personal taste is a funny thing. Thank you, and you too!
