What Do You Think You're Looking At? #128
The Staples was a Grants 5 & 10 cent store in the 1960s, complete with a small luncheonette/soda fountain.
That Staples sure looks like what I remember back in the 1990’s as being a women’s clothing outlet. I was a delivery driver for the company, called Alice Kay/Mamselle, and would routinely deliver there once a week from the very small warehouse in Allentown Pennsylvania. This was roughly 1992-1994. For some reason I feel the store extended to the angled portion, but that doesn’t fit what you write about it. This was on a route that included locations at Philadelphia’s Franklin Mills Mall, a small strip mall in Cheesequake, and Secaucus (besides a handful of eastern Pennsylvania stores). I was layed off in ‘94 and I believe they went out of business not much longer after that.
I don't think you've written about the new Flemington sign on the north side of the traffic circle. What do you think?
Very cool! I can’t wait to check out the Texaco sign -- great find! ⭐️
