Happy Thanksgiving! I go light on holidays, but I still publish a little something, and while this post is brief, you’ll be hearing a lot more about it.
My wife and I bought a house!
Not that I even have to assure you, but that doesn’t change anything I think about housing, and the need to build a lot more of it. I don’t think it will change much of anything, except how much time I spend on home maintenance.
But I have to say, I’m actually looking forward to some of that. To looking at lawnmowers, raking leaves, trying out the water shutoff valves. I don’t believe that any of this makes a person more responsible, per se, but I do enjoy working on things and maintaining things: doing things outside of the digital world where I mostly work. It literally grounds you. And I’m thankful for that. And for my wife, who probably found this process more stressful than I did. But we made it, and kind of like passing an exam, you forget about the 24-hour study session the library.
So I’ll be writing about some of the home maintenance and repair issues, as well as consumer issues, that I run into. I’ll be writing about HOAs. and I’ll be doing what I always do here, so stay tuned. Thank you for reading, and happy Thanksgiving!
Addendum: We’re having a Popeyes Cajun turkey for the big dinner. It’s much easier, and tastier, than roasting a raw bird. And it leaves more time to make the antipasto spread and side dishes, which in turn make the meal. What are your favorite Thanksgiving recipes?
