Maybe I should have called this newsletter The Rummage Sale—not an entirely different meaning from The Deleted Scenes, is it?—but this post is about an actual rummage sale!

This morning I’m back in College Park, Maryland, where I earned my masters at the University of Maryland, for an annual rummage sale held by the Catholic church I used to attend nearby. My parents encouraged me to go to the Campus Ministry, but I found that I preferred to sort of anonymously show up at a regular parish. The first sermon I heard there, back in August of 2015, was about how lots of different people probably ended up in heaven, but Catholicism was still the true faith. That was probably a good introduction for starting what felt like my true adult life.
