I recently came across this 2016 series on Portland’s high housing costs by Charles Marohn, at Strong Towns. As you know if you’ve been following this newsletter for awhile, I’m a big fan of Strong Towns, and also a contributor there. You are likely familiar with them as well, but if not, read this post and the original series. I’m sure I don’t agree with everything they publish, but if I did, that would concern me! They’re a great and unique voice in the urbanism space, advocating for more participatory, smaller-scale growth across broader areas of our cities and communities.
This is the first of at least two posts I’ll be doing while I think through this old but great series, for subscribers only. So stay tuned for more another week, but here goes.
