Earlier in the week, I wrote about cooking, and in general cultivating a sense of contentment regarding these everyday routines that can easily turn into chores. I know I like cooking, but I had an interesting thought.

The other night we were with some friends, and one of them said, “I love cooking! I love finding an interesting recipe, and having a little glass of wine while I work.” I think about cooking that way, but I don’t always feel it.

The thought I had was this: I do it so often I forget what it’s like.
